wanna go to nuclear engineering grad school, best undergrad degree?

hey all,

pretty much asking what the title says. my school doesnt offer an undergrad nuclear engineering program, so i was wondering, what majors best prepares you to go into a grad school program for nuclear engineering?

i heard mech e might be the best way to go but im not sure

mechanical or chemical engineering is my guess

I’m in the same boat. Nobody offers nuclear in-state for undergrad here. But I have been told by numerous engineers (ones actually in the nuclear field, and even a guy from MIT) to get a mechanical degree in undergrad regardless if nuclear is available because it provides a stronger base of understanding.

So passing along the advice I have recieved… Mechanical, hands down.

Engineering Physics would be a good major.

be sure to do a physics minor if at all possible.
