hi! i'm an international student from Korea.
though i'll attend Rutgers, The state university of New Jersey in this fall, Smith has been my favorite all the time!
so i'm planning to transfer into Smith(after 1 year at Rutgers if possible).
i know it's somewhat early to ask this, but is there anyone prepares applying for Fall 2010?
especially if you want to enter as a sophomore, please leave comments.

Thanks :)

I just left this comment for someone else, but maybe it will help you? :)

I got accepted as a transfer for last year, so even though I decided to go elsewhere, I can still probably help a little, I hope!

I would say that, first, you should try to get all of your materials in by the preferred deadline. I know they extend the period until something like May 15, but their spots fill super fast, so if you wait on anything, you could get waitlisted. (I know women who had that happen to them.) Also, they put a lot of emphasis on your essays and recommendations, so be sure those are excellent. And do an interview if you can, because that personal connection can also mean a lot there. Make sure that you show your enthusiasm in the interview and have lots of questions to ask them, because they like to see that type of interest. Since you’ll be in New Jersey, which isn’t too terribly far away, be sure to attend the transfer open house event, which I think is in the spring; you can do the interview then if you’d like.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for your advice!
I also love Mount holyoke and hope you enjoy your life there
btw do you know when the transfer open house event begins?
i’ll leave for US in August so i’m not sure if i can attend … anyway, i’ll try to visit campus and do an interview before applying.

p.s : could you please read my essays and give me some feedbacks later??

thanks again !!

As I said, I’m pretty sure it’s in the spring, but I honestly can’t remember exactly when it happens. If you’re coming to the U.S. in August, you can simply attend it next academic year (during your first year at Rutgers). :)

i have a question.
did you transfer as a junior?
