I` m an international student applying to US schools in 2 years. I really want to go into veterinary medicine. I did some research and it was quite dissapointig. Most vet schools are state schools and therefore, their in-state students are the main priority.
My question is, have you ever heard of any international students entering vet school? Is that even possible? Because I really want to study veterinay medicine in the US...should I just give up?

woops I
m sorry. I didn
t notice that in the title.... but you know, I ACTUALLY did spell it correctly in the message, and the reply you gave me does not have anything to do with the topic....

try Texas A&M....it is very tough to get in even for Texans. but call them and ask.

Tufts' Veterinary School has a very good reputation and they have a large international student body.

Thanks simba and expat-I`ll look into both schools!

My understanding is that veterinary school is more difficult to get into than medical school, in general. You should check the medical school board for information.

The University of Maryland's vet program is very good and they take a fair share of international students: http://www.gradschool.umd.edu/catalog/programs/VMSC.html

Also, look into Iowa State University.

One issue is going to be financial aid - few vet programs offer financial aid for international students or even much for US students. You might consider checking out vet schools in other countries (i.e., Canada, Austrailia, maybe New Zealand) and comparing admissions and aid availability for comparison purposes.
