Scores are low, but in this world anythings possible. Good and bad. I think anybody can outrun a thunderstorm if its the only chance they got.

Very inspirational, but I don;t buy it. I wish you all the best of luck at whatever college you end up going to.

I'm the only person whose applied to an Ivy in four years at my school...

The last Yale acceptance was in the 80's, so not kidding.

Where are you from, gypsy?

Geniusgen.....

There is nothing facetious about your application. As someone emphasized above, the 6.8& acceptance rate applies to everyone. Quantitative aspects of your application will not necessarily entail that you are a qualified application. In fact, everything (as in interview, essays, etc.) all seem to have a stake with regards to your chances.

SAT score of 1870 isn't bad at all....

I too am the only person from my school to apply to Yale or for that matter any Ivy League school (and I applied to three). Four years ago we had a girl go to Dartmouth and my teachers still talk about her. The last Yale acceptees were some sixteen years back. Yeah, my school sucks, but I'm still proud of it.
It built character.

crimson, I'm from Connecticut, actually. Northeastern corner, small town high school, no funding.

Wow, so many people who are the only ones in their schools to apply to Ivies. I thought everyone in the norteast applied to ivy leagues lol. We will all just have to see at the end of march what crazy things the adcoms have decided. I just want to know what they have done!

ok relax geniusgen; my friend got into yale early and she had a 1900 SAT I and a 650 average SAT2....yeah it happens!

6.8% acceptance rate tells less than 93.2% rejection rate. That figure is a little freaky. rather must i say VERY freaky.

Some of these posts remind me of "I am Charlotte Simmons" by Tom Wolfe. I highly recommend it to anyone who finds this string of posts interesting - as I do.

Yeah, definitely a good read.

Florette, your friend must have been a recruited athlete.

You have a chance. Write great essays, be a great interviewewee and go for the best you can.

Test scores aren't everything. The Human heart is more important.

To the OP, what year did you do Soc Major at GHP? I had about 15 friends go and a few SocStud majors. My school sends the most in the state. What school are you from?
Well, Good luck.

really
your friend has a rich daddy
or
something
must be

glitter, I was an '05 soc stud.

loool actually no, she s neither an athlete, nor especially rich, not even an alumni, but shes ranked n1 in the class, has everything else perfect and, we re from france so they re a bit more flexible on SAT's, internationalism gives you a push for that...so i guess that s why those stats didn t bother them too much.

6.8%? It dropped almost 3% in one year?

Really?
