There is no published breakdown for legacies or athletes. However legacies are generally admitted at 40% rate. I can try to scan this when I get to the library. Assuming they have scanners, I've actually never tried.

at time of application: 780 CR, 710 M, top 3%, liberal arts major in the college for EA. (If helpful: 35 ACT; 35Read, 35Math, 34Eng, 34Sci).

You're essentially in the same range as Limetime -- with the near 800 score in reading (though he didn't provide this score, I assumed it based on the 1550, maybe that was a mistake), your odds were at 50% - 160 applied with 80 acceptances, essentially. The math score puts a dampener on things because it is near the 600s, but you are still considered in the same range (albeit barely) as Limetime.

913 applied, 235 accepted if you're talking about applying for a liberal arts degree. Apparently a lot of schools don't rank -- that's a lot of applicants.

Hi, you are in the 700 applications/200 acceptances neighborhood, as were one or two of the earlier posters. You are in the middle of the range, not too high but not on the low end either. So about a 30-35% admit rate for people in your circumstances. It's one of the most common statistics brackets.

( For whatever reason the admissions officials are fearful of the writing SAT and don't place much weight on it, which really irritated me when i applied)

590 apply, 111 in, assuming you're talking liberal arts. how much the athlete status affects application isn't clear; depends on application by application basis. can't hurt obviously.

Mario - can you clarify. If an applicant says he/she is majoring in science, there is a better chance of being accepted? What if one is undecided?

What you indicate on the application as a possible major doesn't put you in a harder or easier application pool per se. They are very much comparable in selectivity. However, there are slight differences. In general, if you are a science applicant, it helps to be strong in quantitative aspects (e.g. math SAT) and have some demonstrable interest in science. Undecideds are for purposes of these stats are liberal arts, since most undecideds do go that route. As a sample, applicants with an 800 in math did better in science (55% admit rate) than applicants with 800 in math applying to liberal arts (45% admit rate). But this is not a big difference and fluctuates depending on many factors.

700-760-Faculty language linguistcs (it does make a difference to know this, very different pool)- no rank :
155 apply ; 68 accepted.
If your GPA is high then you're in good shape.
