Hi, im looking for a little help from someone who maybe knows something about the transfer process.
so here's my profile...
-i had some very serious family problems the middle of my junior year, and this forced me to withdraw from high school.
-The following year i took my GED and received an almost perfect score. think i got something like 2 questions wrong grand total
-im in college now at a 4th tier school and find the classes very easy, and unbearably boring
-i had planned to transfer out even before entering, so i intentionally took a 32 credit work load, for tulane this means my high school records no longer matter....at least according to the website.
-my mom's a tulane & vanderbilt alumni (tulane undergrad, vanderbilt grad)
-i just received my midterm grads, and i have straight A's. Unfortunately 3 of them were A-'s which gave me a 3.8 gpa. i intend to bring this up.
-with a 3.8-4.0 what are my chances of getting into
Tulane
Emory
Vanderbilt
Loyola (NO)
Boston University
Boston College
Holly Cross
U VA
Northeastern
Notre Dame

...i have very good rec's and a few family ties. i also realize this list is far to long, and need to cut it in half. if you could help me cross off names of schools that are way out of the realm of possibility. ANY help would be of huge appreciation! thankssss =]

Hey!

MSB
3.75 UW with big upward trend
2250 SAT (690 CR 800 M 760 W)
Top 5-10% (very small VERY competitive private school in CA)

Also, it probably helps my case for MSB that I have created 3 companies over the course of the past 3.5 years, one of which still operates (no more info can be provided so as not to be identified)
I also interned with an asset management group alongside a group of college interns, approximately 50 of them, all of whom were from top business schools in the nation (Georgetown, Harvard, Penn, Duke, Columbia, Brown, etc.)

Sats: 2100, 720 math, 700 V, 680 W.
32 ACT.
3.65 GPA Unweighted, 4.3 Weighted.
Top 10 percent in the class.
Good EC's that display A LOT of leadership.
SFS and maybe college. I would like to see both, if possible, please! (College would be for Political Science)
If it helps any, my school is in top 460 (should be around top 300 by my senior year.) public schools of America.
About 8 AP's.
Is there room for any letters of Recs from someone not from your school? I am getting an internship this summer with a Politician, and I think it would look great to have a Rec from him.

Would EA help me any?

Thanks!

Arg..I am having really emotionally devastating relationship problems. Not to bore you, but my god. Did I ever take it hard over the last week.

Based on the GPA alone you will get into any of those schools. Typically all of them look for a 3.5 or better and good SAT scores, which you also have. Tulane will accept you almost sight unseen.

Yes get recs from everyone
EA doesn't really help per se, but it's useful for when you get deferred because you can then stress to admissions that you really really want to go there -- because hey, you applied early.
