Mario, Have you heard how many EA applications were received? More than last year??

[/quote]

I don't know the exact number. I know GWU's applications took a hit and they think it's the financial crisis. I can find this out for you on Monday the exact numbers. Also, one other poster asked me earlier to find out about delaying his application -- sorry for the delay, I will do that on Monday as well. I'm just really behind on stuff.

Hey Mario, shake it off, I had some bad relationship problems a couple weeks ago, but time has healed! (yes, cliche, but also, true)
Hope you feel better!!

Heh well thanks for your nice words. I don't think I can really fix up this problem though, so anything to keep my mind off it is a good thing I guess. As far as your stats:can you tell me your ACT score breakdown? If not I can give you a ballpark range of 140/85 acceptances so those are great odds.

501 apply; 165 accepted; no problem .

Fun fact, last year someone with a 500 verbal in the bottom 20% of his class got in. Got to find basketball players somehow I guess.

hi Mario

sorry to trouble you again. After I sent in my app, I talked to my counselor and he said he didn't rank me (which is good given he'd have randomly put down something). Would you please give me some idea of my chances given my revised stats?

SAT I CR+M: 1480 (single sitting) 1510 (combined)
GPA: 3.83 uw
Rank: no rank
SAT II: I was sick for the Nov sitting, but I've already registered for the Dec one.

Thanks a lot!

I have my grades from college - straight A's (3.86GPA)..i'm at the university of hartford...and my GED score is in the 99th percentile on all 5 sections. but i want to transfer to some pretty competive schools

Will all applicants accepted early be receiving a late-November phone call? If you do not get on by early December, can you assume that you have been deferred?

Mario, thanks for giving me my chances. I hope everything works out well for you and that you feel better soon=)

i haven't gotten a call for an interview yet...what should i do? I am an EA applicant.

bigglesworth, accepted EA applicants get a call, but it is usually closer to December 18th, after you've already received your decision by mail. No phone call comes in late November, unless your interview is really behind schedule

Hey, thanks for taking the time to do this Mario. I'm applying to the college of arts and sciences regular decision.

I am an international applicant, interested in the FLL. Whats are my chances?
My stats:
-720 Math
-750 CR

-4.0 GPA
-Top 5%

and i have a question about the two last stats. my ninth and tenth grade GPA and rank were much worse. when colleges consider your GPA and rank, do they mean the average of all highschool years?? or just your rank AT THE MOMENT?

Thanks so much.

800 CR, 690 M, 34 ACT

Thank you so much Mario :)

I have a 650 CR and a 670 Math.
My SAT scores are way low but I have a good GPA. Will it hurt me or help me? I did very well on my AP tests so I'm hoping that shows my school doesn't pad grades.

And do you think my URM and geographical area will help me?

Not sure if this is still active thread, but here goes: By the way, this is not for me, but my younger S who is applying EA (I'm already settled at a lesser school cuz I am not nearly as smart or industrious as her):

Question: If d's alumni interviewer seemed to strongly dislike her, and told her that he has submitted reports to the admissions office in the past saying that some kids were real "jerks", can he hurt her chances? By the way, she's a polite, hardworking academic student and Georgetown was her first choice. She's confused about how her interview went so badly.

does having taken several courses during summer (w/uva and jhu, and 4 courses in pakistan) and speaking 4 languages (not counting spanish from school) help? I know my sat scores arent very high but im hoping my essays and recs will compensate some (i have excellent standing with my teachers) as this is really my first choice school. my grades dropped back in 10th grade where i was out of school alot for medical reasons, should i write explaining this as the reason for my low grades (2 b's?)? also, my cousin goes to georgetown, would having her write a rec improve my chances? sorry for all the quesions, thank you so much again!!
