Want to practice your vocab while helping stop world hunger?

http://www.freerice.com/

Here's how it works: For every vocab word you get correct, freerice.com will donate 10 grains of rice through U.N. to stop world hunger.

Have fun. :)

Wow. That is so cool! I'm going to try to feed a nation:).

Donated 2200 grains:). Kinda topped out at Level 27.

i'm level 32, but i've only donated 120 grains .. weird!

nvm. at 500 grains, down to level 27 =P

2180 grains, level 40 so far
this is fun !

I told my AP Human Geo teacher about this, since she likes to save the world (I personally think the world is overrated, but whatever). She liked it. XD

4130/ level 40

i think i'm done for now.

Great site.

Donated 240. Mainly level 40-41 words.

yeah my friend told me about this site
i think its pretty cool i did like 2000

BUMP! Now it's 20 grains of rice per correct word!

Good thread. Bump.

lol anyone ever stop to think how little 1000 grains are? I mean I get the whole 'at least it's something', but you got multi billion dollar corporations backing this and all these grains add up to very little. So it's like 50 bucks a month to them, but they get all this great publicity.

haha i was wondering if this was going to come up on here!
it's pretty addicting... i stopped when i peaked at 43.

Some of the definitions seem more like associations.

i <3 freerice.com

The majority of those words aren't even SAT words

holy crap I love this! I have already taken my SAT's but I want to feed a nation!

but yea... I don't think some of these words are SAT words... like I got "grabonzo= chickpea" which are those little peas you put into your soup..

but wait! they have some excellent sat word in there, too. before my SAT, I studied a list of common words, but not one of them showed up
