Hey guys. i want to get 800 on math but lvl 5 questions killing me,especially some verbal questions. how to approach these Hard and verbal questions ?. Thank you

Use Pwn the sat! This book covers most of the level 5 concepts well.

Thanks your Great advice. but im unable to buy the book , is there any chance to get from online ?

in terms of the book, try a library i guess.

Regarding a strategy, there are a few things you need to know first. SAT math questions aren’t meant to trick you. They test basic school math skills. Furthermore, there are only a limited number of question types, and chances are you’ve had some experience with them in school.

What does that mean? Well, assuming you’re close to an 800, that means you don’t really need to learn anything new. You already know everything, you just need to get comfortable with the more complex question types. So…

PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.

Get a book of SAT tests (there are plenty in the library) and do all of the more difficult math questions. Or, if you can’t get a SAT book, narrow down what topics you need help in and do a bunch of exercises on them in a normal math textbook. The questions are essentially the same.

Another tip is to completely solve the problem before looking at the answers. College Board often puts answers that draw the eye because they seem right, but trap you. Instead, do the whole problem carefully, check it, THEN look at the answers. If you already have the right answer in your head, you’re less likely to pick the wrong one!

I hope I helped. Good Luck!

@ajtalkar wrote some phenomenal tips on here. In my experience, the hard verbal questions often include hints within the problem. You might be able to pick up useful information like the type of function or shape of triangle.

But really as said above, practicing a lot of the hard questions will help a lot. Good luck!
