@CheddarcheeseMN I might give them a call and hear their thoughts - never thought about doing that. Thanks! Anything else you might recommend to compare the two schools?
Very great school from what I’m reading, however I fear that job placement for public schools tends to be easier in the geographic area of the given school in fields like Finance? Or is that not true? I just wouldn’t want to live in a state like Minnesota is all after I finish college.
“Unfortunately the search didn’t take scholarships into account.” Most of them don’t. But if you can get to a list of places that offer your major, you can check each website for information about transfer scholarships. I know it is a lot of work, however it could lead to significant financial savings for you.
Transfer scholarships would also be something to quiz the Transfer Advisor at your CC about. One thing to ask specifically about is places that offer merit money for CC graduates who are members of Phi Theta Kappa (your GPA puts you in the range for that honor society) or who don’t belong but would otherwise be qualified. You also could take a peep at the PTK website http://www.ptk.org/
If the Transfer Advisor at your CC isn’t particularly helpful, see if that person can put you in touch with a professional colleague at another CC, or just search the websites of other CCs for useful links. Here’s the Transfer information page for Happykid’s CC: http://cms.montgomerycollege.edu/EDU/Plain.aspx?id=49246
Here is the MC link to information for Transfer Scholarships: http://cms.montgomerycollege.edu/edu/plain.aspx?id=17989 Some could work for you.
@happymomof1 Thanks again for the many helpful resources! I’ll make sure to make good use of all of them. I had a pretty narrow mind and only focused on US News ratings - but not anymore.
