Wanting to major in CS, but took APs that don't relate to it much.

I intend to major in CS, since I just...well like it....however I never really took courses to prepare me for it other than AP Comp Sci, a regular Computer Programming class, Physics I, and Physics II.

I couldn't take AP Physics because I needed to take AP Calc, and I didn't take AP Calc because...before I wanted to major in Psychology...so I didn't bother taking advanced math classes and only just took the regular stuff "9th: Geometry, 10th: Algebra II, 11th: Trig, 12th: Will be Pr-Calc." So I can't really go back now, and take Pr-Calc instead of Trig...so I can take AP Calc.

I did and am planning to take 6 other AP classes "not including AP Comp Sci" and some Pr-AP "pretty much honors...my school just calls it that".

So what do you guys say? Does it look bad or not...to take classes irrelevant to your intended major?

I could be wrong, but unless you’re actually applying to a specific program I don’t think a college would care that much about what you want to major in. Most people change their major in college anyway.

For freshman admission, Berkeley does NOT care.
