Wanting to transfer asa sophomore- which school would give me better chances?

Hello,
I want to transfer to Columbia next year- yes, I realize that my chances are slim but I would still like to try.

Right now, I am choosing between Emory University and Boston College. I love both schools equally but would attending one benefit me during the transfer process than the other? BC's rankings are not as high as Emory's but I feel that it is well-regarded among the Northern colleges.

Any advice?
Thank you in advance!

Emory, a great GPA and a convincing essay on why you hate Emory and love Columbia would give you a fairly good chance. Good Luck!

Why would you choose to spend 4 years and $200K and brand yourself with a school for life for the 5% chance you might transfer? That’s just ■■■■■■■■.

Can you get more conclusory than this? Do you realize persuasion requires analysis/explanation. Why wouldn’t BC, a great GPA and a convincing essay on why you hate BCand love Columbia give you a fairly good chance?

@CO2 Emory in my opinion is more prestigious and is ranked higher. Please don’t argue for the sake of arguing. Just post your opinion and move on.

Then you should have said that. Your post would have made sense if you explained yourself.

Opinions that aren’t supported are worthless. The OP likely wants reasoned opinions, not a poll. Don’t post nonsense. Post your opinion and back it up.

@CO2 Are you a lawyer? Don’t you ever get sick of just posting and spending your time finding imperfection in other people’s post. Try just reading and moving on. Its peacful…and you won’t annoy people so much.

Just try thinking before you post… and you won’t annoy people so much.

I’ve checked your previous posts and you seem to like well…just arguing. I thought, the fact that an adult in his late twenties, spends so much time posting in a forum, after graduating from college 8 years earlier was passionate. But after reading your posts, its just pathetic. Try not posting. The world would be a better place (and I suspect it would do your social life some good too.)

If you put as much effort into providing a reasoned opinion to OP as you put trashing me, you might be a better poster.

I got to back up C02 here. Bringing up his age and “what he should be doing with his life” seems like a last resort to me. To each his own choices.

[boy, it’s these new acceptees every year at this time who think they know and can comment on everything] How much do you really know about transfer admissions gedion?

@C02 The OP said advice, I gave him my opinion. I thought you were condescending when you said “Do you realize persuasion requires analysis/explanation?”. I took it the wrong way…that plus the unfinished housing application drove me over the edge. I apologize.
@Epaminondas. I never I said I knew everything, but I do know if the university you are applying from is ranked higher, you would have slightly better chances. Hence, I recommended Emory.

You still don’t seem to get it. An opinion is useless to the OP if it’s not backed up by anything. This would have been a way you could have backed up your opinion and helped the OP: “if the university you are applying from is ranked higher, you would have slightly better chances. Hence, I recommended Emory.”

Yes and what I’m saying is that your first post was condescending, although you are right I should have given reasons for my opinion.
