Hello! I am currently in my first semester of college at UNC-W, I intend on majoring in Computer Science and would like to transfer to UNC or NC State sometime in the future, most likely after my sophomore year here.
I screwed up really badly freshman year of high school and finished that year off with a 2.4 gpa but I ended up taking 6 AP classes and honors courses to bring my gpa up and managed to finish high school with a 3.99. My question is do high school grades still count, or have importance when I do try to transfer later on? What about standardized test scores?
Besides that is there any advice that anyone can give me, like things I could do that would help with increasing my chances of getting into these schools as a transfer?
I begin my first computer science class next semester, and by the end of my sophomore year I will hopefully have completed four computer science classes total, I am not sure if that helps but I was thinking that doing well in these could increase my chances.
Thanks!
