^^ re post 99
Oh, please. You are providing a link to something that was posted on YELP[ a real quality source of news, lol!] in 2009 about something that was supposed to have happened in Pakistan???
Ever heard of the word credibility? or reliable news source?
YELP is know for neither…

MPM, I saw it on Law and Order…

“If the attractive female student in the short skirt and tight sweater gets an admiring look from the captain of the football team she would most likely be walking on air for the rest of the day. If she got the same look from the captain of the Physics team I think she would try to ignore it and would be downright despondent if the captain of the football team was also in the lounge and he never looked her way.”

What if the captain of football was also the captain of physics?

i agree the man would not be afraid the woman would rape him… “but beware a woman scorned” She could make his life miserable with accusations or rumors… or stalking behavior

And, of course, no man has ever done that to a woman.

I don’t know Lemaitre. I suspect you’re a guy (what with the Le, not La). How would you know what someone else thinks?

And parent1986, you wrote comprends-tu (#72). I believe you meant “comprendez vu”, didn’t you?

"MPM, I saw it on Law and Order… "

so??? Good Grief!
do you really believe that anything you read on the internet or see on TV is factual???
L & O is a for profit TV series, NOT a documentary…
They may say an episode is “based on” a “reported incident”, but that doesn’t make it a fact!

not saying it hasnt… jeez people… am saying that there are also consequences for the man in these situations. i have stated multiple times… i agree rules and procedures need to be in place for these things, but i’m not sure the process of this letter etc are completely reasonable.

No, comprendez-vous is formal, comprends tu is informal - a hidden innuendo to the IMF chief. It means “you understand?”

Just because a guy is an inappropriate jerk doesn’t mean he is a rapist. Is all unwanted attention harassment? Does staring however intimidating lead to rape? I say a woman has every right to be safe and to feel safe especially in her home wherever that may, college included. Just to stir things up further, should the intimidating starer be kicked off campus or educated about his behavior. What punishment fits this crime?

MPM, where’s your sense of humor???

So we need to change the title to:

DOUBLE WARNING FOR ALL COLLEGE MEN AND WOMEN!!!

Was I being too informal Limabeans? Did you feel harassed?

hey parent1986,
when you are “joking” do this-
;)

My computer monitor just reported me to the feds for staring at it all day.

it is “comprenez- vous” btw…

thanks performersmom, it’s been awhile

Really Schmaltz, I’m sorry to hear that.:)

Nooooo! I don’t take offense or feel harrassed. parent1986, (what’s did you mean in #115?) it’s : and ) put together to make Schmaltz, lol That would be something my kids would tell me if they bothered to read this discussion here.

As a mother of only females, I am happy they are sending a message to young men. For far too long guys have been raping drunk girls and getting away with it. The girls are too embarrassed to report the crime. Because these girls are passed out or very drunk and can not defend themselves the guys do what they want. The girls do not get believed and nothing stops the young men from doing it again. Of course most the young woman are underage drinking and are scared of getting caught if they report the crime.

I know as part of the orientation at my dd’s college they are discussing this topic with the entire freshman class even before school. I hope it stops the drunk hook-ups because they are the gray area.

Date rape and drunken stupidity has been discussing in depth with my dd. Honestly, it is the only thing that worries me about her being gone.
