Warning Letters?

Just curious about if Amherst does send out warning letters for grades. I just got my 3rd quarter report card and it was ok but definitely not up to what is was earlier in the year. It wasn’t even senioritis but just too much going on at once, especially with sports (lax, not recruited) which I usually balanced pretty well in the past but for some reason, it was particularly difficult this quarter. It got better in the end and ever since but the beginning was bad enough to pull me down for the entire quarter. I know that this quarter is going to be as good as earlier in the year so I don’t think this 3rd quarter is going to make a real noticeable difference on my final report. I know that usually kids need to really tank (c or lower) in order to receive a warning/concern letter but I was just wondering if the same is true for Amherst or if they hold admitted students to a higher level like no lower than a b- or something. Also, would they only find out by final grade reports or would they somehow know how I did in this individual quarter? I know that I probably won’t be sent one but I’m pretty curious and want to be somewhat prepared if it does come. Thanks

bump.

im interested

From what I understand, the deal is that you send a final year end report that will only have your year end grades. If you’ve messed that up considerably you’ll probably be hearing from them. But you’d probably have to get C- or below for the year I would guess… which would be a lot different than the grades you had to get in!
