There were some people worried about final grades senior year potentially resulting in a warning letter or a rescinded admission... does anyone know of any such letters actually being sent?

I’m sure some were.

Yea man, those happen, probably more than you expect

An admissions person told me that you only get such a letter if you get 3 or more Cs, one D, or one F.

As a transfer I was told I’d be in trouble at LSA if I got more than two C’s or anything worse, I can’t believe transferring would be more strict with how much easier it is to get in that way anyway. I managed to get all A’s and B’s after pretty much peeing my pants about it all semester.

^Wait, you’re mad that UM is more strict about a transfer applicants final semester grades than a senior in high schools final semester grades? Everyone knows the mentality of HS seniors, c’mon.

Anyway I’m pretty sure that they do send them out. Have I met anyone personally who’s gotten one? No, but it can’t just be some urban legend guidance counselors tell you to scare you

Trust me, the mentality is very similar to that of a community college sophomore-- only I don’t have the fear of not graduating to contend with because I am not trying to graduate anyway! I just left myself 4 minutes to complete a quiz for an online course and am just now starting the two papers I have due tomorrow at midnight. Thankfully everything will still get done, and these are the last assignments ever before I go to Michigan-- where I am too entirely terrified to allow something like this to happen, and rightly so.

I know people who have gotten their admission rescinded, but not from Michigan-- I only know one other person who even applied. I am SURE they send them out, though. LOTS of people don’t read the fine print in their acceptance letters.

As soon as Michigan sent me that letter in the mail, I worked my ass off. Even though I was working my ass off already, but still slightly slacking; I worked really hard my senior year because of that letter.

It happened at my high school.

My mom told me that University of California in San Diego kicked students out because of the budget. :|

And we all know how bad Michigan’s economy is…

Michigan gets very little from the state so I doubt they will be kicking anyone out.
