Does anyone know if a student must apply separately for admission to the Warrington School of Business after being admitted to UF or if one is admitted directly to the School of Business? The website said something about simply taking/signing up for the courses that you will need for your major and maintaining a certain GPA in these courses but nothing about how to get into the school of business.

I would like to know this as well, because the major I listed on my application was Computer and Information Science - Business, but I plan on switching to Accounting / Finance

I don't believe theres a separate application, and if there is I'm almost positive that it wouldn't be for first year students, as the first year biz classes are mostly massive online courses that the college wants to attract people to take.

I know I listed engineering on my app and they never had me fill out anything more, and I'd think engineering college would be more competitive than business anyways. As for switching your major, just talk to your advisor when you're at preview I think and they'll sort it out.

Are the online courses also given in a lecture hall (where you have the option to attend the lecture or download the lecture...or even replay the lecture)? So I wonder, does this mean that any student can take any class at UF then declare a major (once you've satisfied the course requirements)? Does your degree say that you've graduated from the Warrington School of Business or just "BSBA with a major in marketing"? I think I need to call the school and get the answers to this question. At my D's other top choice schools (BU and UM) she would be accepted directly into the School of Business/Management. Those school are not rated as highly as UF (by US News) but they may be more nationally recognized and thus better for job recruitment and eventual "B School" admittance. Any thoughts, anyone? D has also mentioned that maybe she should just go to UCF for 4 yrs and have a blast while pulling a stellar GPA ( the C students from her hs pull A's and B's at UCF) ...I don't know if that is a viable strategy.

Some majors require you to apply to the major before or during your junior year. Business may be one of them. You'd probably have to talk to an advisor to find out for sure.

Spoke with someone in the admission's office today. For business, one simply must take the prescribed critical tracking courses in the major (and get no lower than a 3.0 in them), no further application or admissions process is necessary.

Once you are in Uf you do not need to apply to get in to the school of business. And for those large online classes they are taped live so you can go to the class and watch it live if you would like. But if you dont want to go to go the classes they are posted online and you can download them whenever you want.
