Was I accepted or Bridged (Gamecock Gateway)?

I’m an in-state student who applied to the University of South Carolina in Columbia, and I just logged into the same account I used to submit my application (which I submitted months ago). When I opened my application, information regarding the Gamecock Gateway was at the top of my screen and a required form link regarding the program was at the bottom of my page (along with a link to FAQs). I applied back in late November for regular decision. I know they said to expect decisions the week of March 12th. I haven’t received anything in the mail yet from the university. Does this mean that I have already been declined and pushed towards their bridge program? Or should I wait to receive something in the mail?

I believe that is what showed up in my daughter’s screen last year – she was accepted into the Gateway Program. However, I would wait until you receive something in the mail to confirm.

Are you okay with sharing your GPA and act score?

3.8 GPA and ACT 25

Wow! That is crazy for you to get pushed to the bridge program, Have you spoken to anyone as to why?

Probably applying for business major had a lot to do with it – very competitive major. Plus, it seems they push a lot of SC residents into the program to open up more space for those out of state, $$$.
