Was it worth going to Princeton?

I'm very conflicted at the moment between Princeton and Columbia University. So, I'm asking this question to Princeton alums, was it worth it and in your opinion, what were the pros and cons?

Thank you,
SeptemberBlues

I will only think about that question in April if I need to.

Dear high school sophomore,

you probably won’t get into either so take a chill pill and understand that going to either school will set you up for life. It is way too early for you to be “conflicted” about colleges you have yet to gain admissions to.

To poobear87,

I see that you are a Princeton alum but your post is no way at all an answer to my question. All I simply wanted to know was your opinion on Princeton and how going to the school has impacted your life positively and negatively. How about posting something that would be beneficial instead of telling me to ‘take a chill pill’ or that ‘I probably won’t get into either’.

In your opinion, it’s way too early for me to be conflicted, but when I have my heart set on something, it’s done. If you don’t have anything helpful or constructive to say, please don’t answer my thread.

Thank you,

I am a Princeton student. Here is my advice:

“In your opinion, it’s way too early for me to be conflicted, but when I have my heart set on something, it’s done.”

It is not done until you have offers. Wait until then. Picking one is just setting yourself up for failure in the future.

i’m currently a freshman at princeton right now, and i can confidently say that princeton beats columbia, hands down. first of all, columbia is tiny, about 6 blocks wide i think? princeton is also by far the most beautiful campus i’ve ever seen. i’ve visited my friend at columbia – he gave me a tour of the school in about 15 minutes. princeton is small, but feels big. dorms at columbia are not the greatest at all, but you are pretty much guaranteed amazing housing at princeton. it’s not debatable that princeton puts the most emphasis out of all other ivy leagues on their undergrads. the professors are great, the people are great, i am friends with broadway stars, entrepreneurs, and children of celebrities. princeton also has by far the greatest alumni support and loyalty. people come back to princeton every summer for reunions, and it’s just one giant party. also, think about all the amazing people in history who’ve attended princeton: f scott fitzgerald, michelle obama, etc. the only bad thing about princeton is that it’s tough. the workload is intense, but you’ll find that at every school. if you get into princeton, definitely come, because princeton isn’t just a school, it’s a lifestyle, and you’d be crazy to turn down the best undergrad school in the country!

ps. sorry for rambling. you might think i write pretty terribly for a princeton student haha but i’m just tired/in a hurry

COME TO PRINCETON!!!
