Was Taking AP Bio over regular Physics a mistake.

So this year I decided to take AP Bio over regular regents Physics ( we do not have AP physics at my School), so I could take an AP science class. Wesleyan though encourages you take Physics with (80+% of students have taken it) I still took $ years of science throughout High school, except i took two Years of Bio (one regents level, one AP level) instead of Physics. I know its kind of too late to change now, but I hope I didn’t make the wrong choice.

I’m not a Wes student. Heck, I’m still a high school senior too. That said, I think taking an AP is never a bad idea. Wesleyan isn’t going to turn you down just for not taking physics. Taking an AP course shows that you’re challenging yourself, and particularly because you already took a Bio course, the extra application of your time to Bio shows that you have a passion. I can’t see it being a bad thing.

You made the right choice. As the poster above mentioned, Wes wants to see applicants challenge themselves. Rigor of high school record is one of the most important parts of your application. I would go so far as to say Wes would rather see someone opt in to an AP class and get an A-/B+ vs. coast to an A+ in a regular class.
