I am considering both and would like to know if there are any fundamental differences between the two ? Are the academics more rigorous at one vs the other? Is the social scene any different ? How are the professors in the pre-med track at Wash U? Need help deciding? How easy are internships in medical area at Wash u vs emory? Medical acceptance rate compare?
WashU just surpassed Emory in the last few years and is gradually increasing the gap. WashU and Emory are equally academic, but WashU is a lot more social than Emory. Both are in big cities so internships are equal as well. These colleges are almost the same, but WashU is known for a better environment.
I’m going to bump this so that folks do not get the wrong impression: Most people find these places identical including the social environment…don’t know where the more social thing came from. I have never heard it and there is no evidence of it. WUSTL, like most elites have always been more selective than Emory so if anything Emory caught the elite schools and was not surpassed by them. Most of these places joined the AAU like at least 10 years before it and now the undergraduate program at Emory is very comparable to most of the schools ranked between 15 and 20.
