I was recently admitted at all of these schools and I’m having a really hard time deciding where to commit. I’m planning to major in business/finance and I am wondering which one boasts the most opportunities for that field. I know that all of those schools have a preppy atmosphere and that is fine since it’s what I’m used to. All of those schools also have what I want in terms of academics which is what makes the choice so hard. I can see myself being happy at any of them as well. If anybody has any information, whether it is student life, location, etc., that will help differentiate them to make the choice a little easier it would be greatly appreciated. Also insights on which one has the most opportunities for a career in finance would be amazing. Thank you!
Consider the University of Richmond, at which you would find little to be lacking in terms of your criteria, especially as they pertain to the study of business and finance.
For somewhat different reasons, consider Washington & Lee, which appears to register the most academically elevated student profile in Virginia.
merc81 thank you for the reply - those are actually my top two right now. They each place very well in finance, maybe more so W&L since it is more prestigious. They both have their own downside for me: Richmond is less recognized academically, but Washington and Lee is in a pretty rural spot and is half the size. I know people at each school and they love their time there, so I know I will also most likely be happy at either, but I want to make the right choice. Is there anything else specific that will help me choose?
As one additional aspect to consider, UR’s general profile has been rising. While it’s still offset from W&L by some academic criteria, the gap has narrowed in recent years.
Regarding W&L, I personally wouldn’t look at its smaller size as a liability, however.
