Washington DC for Thanksgiving?

Once again, we find ourselves with an extra ticket on the "CB-Bus" (Cornell to Bethesda (A suburb of DC, in MD), and then back to Cornell) over Thanksgiving--the round-trip price is $100. We'd be happy to sell the ticket, first come, first served.

The bus leaves for Bethesda (from three different pick-up points--North Campus, West Campus & Collegetown) Wednesday (day before T-giving) afternoon...arrives around 6 hours later at Montgomery Mall; returns to Cornell Sunday, late morning.

Please PM me if you're interested. I can provide all the detail you want--Thanks.

Hi, overanxious mother.

I can't help you, but maybe you can help others.

A few months ago, there was a thread on this board in which people were inquiring about the Cornell-Bethesda bus. They wanted to find out whether it really existed and how to buy tickets. Nobody answered them, and a search of the Cornell Web site turned up nothing.

Do you have this information?

Marian, here is the link to the Cornell-Bethesda Bus: http://www.cbbus.com

That is indeed the correct link...just wanted to add that the service (and the people who provide it) are terrific...I just left the CB-Bus site and see the fall break bus is sold out, but there's still space on the T-giving (and later) buses...and then if those sell out, there's still our ticket available!

Thank you.

I hope that the people who were looking for the link earlier in the summer see this thread.

In the meantime, I've bookmarked the CB Bus site. My daughter is a high school senior who is applying to Cornell. Now I have the bus information just in case we need it. (We hope we will.) I have heard from other sources that the service is good. I'm glad you confirmed that, overanxious mother.

Don't know how to "solve" the problem of not seeing an inquiry (or a response to it)...I know I never saw the thread you referenced ... I certainly would have responded had I seen it...

I spend lots less time on CC than I used to...my S is now mid-way through his college career and while I still find the subject of college admissions interesting, it isn't as "compelling" as it was 3 years ago when he began his search!

Good luck to your daughter in her college search...I couldn't be happier with my son's experiences so far at Cornell...will keep fingers crossed that if she wants Cornell, Cornell will also want her!

hi, i would really like to purchase that extra ticket that you have. How would I go about doing that? thanks.

carrie b

Carrie B: I just sent you a PM about the ticket...

To anyone else who might be interested: the first person who actually buys it will get it...so far, three people have inquired...the first one said "no" after I emailed to say I'd gotten a second inquiry; I've just emailed the second one to say I've gotten this third one and so she should confirm definitively (or say no)...I'll do the same with this third one if either the second one or this one doesn't work out...

SOrry to be so complicated...but it seems that multiple inquiries don't necessarily mean someone is actually going to buy...so if someone is interested, please PM me and I'll let you know if there's any chance...

Thanks...

It appears our Thanksgiving ticket on the CB-Bus is now sold...thanks for your interest.
