Washington Monthly College Ranking

Can anyone post them, both for research universities and liberal arts colleges. I understand most of the Ivies and other elite privates didn't do too well.

Isn't it the Atlantic Monthly?

<a href="http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2005/0509.collegeguide.html?tr=y&auid=1058971%5B/url%5D">http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2005/0509.collegeguide.html?tr=y&auid=1058971</a></p>

Cornell and Penn are the only Ivies in the top ten. This ranking is not necessarily reflective of undergraduate quality; it ranks universities by how much they benifit the country in terms of research and service.

Cornell is 4th, Penn 9th, Yale 15th, Harvard 16th. Noticeably no Columbia. Brown and Dartmouth aren't research mecca's, so its not surprising they aren't on the list.

I wouls say top privates did pretty well, but generally top publics have more pell grant recipients, which was a big factor, I think.

I don't really get the purpose of this ranking...it doesn't really matter to us as prospective students.

That's a telling statement on SO many levels.
