What do you think the new acceptance rate will be compared to last year's acceptance rate of 15.01%?

14.1

Any other thoughts?

17%

Why do you predict 17%? Do you think because they lost a few applicants this year the acceptance rate will go up?

I bet it will stay the same with fewer applicants. The yields keep going up every year (with a few too many students saying yes last year) so I bet it will hover around 15.

Washington Post says that 5,002 out of 29,211 were accepted (17%). This surprises me and I have a feeling there will be a bigger class than 1650 that enroll.

NOOO! Oh, gosh. I really hope the yield rate this year is low. (waitlisted student here)

I’m confused because in 2012 they accepted ~4,800 from a pool of ~27,000. Last year, About 4,500 from a pool of 30,000. Since yield is increasing, it makes little since that they would accept more students than they did in 2012 and even 2013. I have a friend who was WL, so for his sake I hope that the article is wrong…

@HereForTheLinks , do you see the link @quotable posted? It confirms what I knew all along.

If you know a thing or two about a school, you can pretty much predict the outcome.

Yes, you were spot on!

@HereForTheLinks , actually, it was a combination of knowledge about the school and luck. And i don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but my people’s birthday falls on the 17…so there! It sounded good so I typed it. lol

My birthday is on the 17th! Weird lol!

What month @HereForTheLinks …See, you should have guessed 17%. lol

But all joking aside, I said 17% because my people and your birthday fall on the 17th.

April! @LanaHere

Well, Happy Birthday in advance @HereForTheLinks .

Are you a Wash U admitted student?

Yes! I was an ED admit!

What is your major @HereForTheLinks

At my admitted student reception, I was told that predicted yield rate this year is around 50%, and that the acceptance rate is close to 10%? Not sure how accurate this is though, and maybe that acceptance rate is for RD.

I am a pre med so probably biology! @LanaHere
