I was recently accepted into WUSTL in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. I know the school has a fantastic overall reputation, but I don't know much about engineering at Washington. Could anyone tell me some tidbits about it?

It's overrated.

engineering is one of the weaker schools in Wash U. You can probably find a cheaper option that is also better. For example, my state U has better engineering than Wash U.

yep WashU engineering isn't very good at all really. The school overall is considered great, but certain programs seem to suffer.

IMO dept ranking does not really matter for undergrad.

The only real differences in undergraduate engineering rankings is two fold. The quality of the initial students and the amount of labs. The better quality of students, the better the education. The more labs, the better the education.
