you are in!! I got in with stats: 2200 on SAT, 3.97 GPA (non-weighed), 2 SAT II both 800 (math lvl 2, physics). Besides, I am an international student applied for RD.

Wow thanks canwng! I’d still appreciate further input but that is very encouraging! And I will be applying RD for financial reasons.

You’re a strong candidate but nothing is guaranteed. You are certainly not “in,” as canwng says. You’ll be competing with a lot of other competitive applicants. Best of luck!

Thanks RaVNzCRoFT. Do you sense any particular weaknesses?

Without pretending to speak for RaVNzCRoFT, I think the point–with which I absolutely concur–is that even with no perceived weakness in your objective quals, there is simply no guarantee. Anyone following WashU has seen some candidates waitlisted or denied despite stating numbers that were off the charts. Congrats on your resume–it looks fantastic!

On another point you mentioned, concerning applying RD for financial reasons…I assume you are thinking about having to commit if you are admitted ED prior to having financial aid locked down? Please check with the school on that–do not go just on my post–but the ED commitment my daughter and I were asked to sign last year had an “out” clause in it that made the prospective student’s commitment subject to financial feasibility.
