WashU Early Decision Class of 2016

I know this is off the immediate topic, but I have a question. What does everyone who applied ED to WashU hope to gain at WashU? I, for example, would like to go to medical school, and, while undergraduate is really irrelevant, I think an education from WashU will make me the best surgeon possible. Is there any certain reason why you guys want to go to WashU?

I want to know right now so I can do my pile of homework for tomorrow. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Until I know, I won’t be able to get a single thing done!!! I wish they understood that.

@MaxwellEdison my sentiments exactly. Though I can’t really say how I feel or how I’ll react until it really happens.

I’m right with you bud, took the words out of my mouth

WashU is not only great in a number of ways, but they also have an incredibly strong East Asian Studies and Chinese Language department, which is something I am looking to pursue upon graduation. I’ve been studying Chinese for 6 years now and it is my goal in life to become fluent.

same here! its premed program is amazing. and its psychology program is just as great. and as i plan on both being a psych major and going into premed…the educational fit can’t be better

What are your career goals?

Well it’s 5 Central Time by my watch. Anybody’s decision up?

Nothing. I really wanted to know by tomorrow night, because I’m signed up to take the ACT again on Saturday and I don’t want to if I don’t have to, and there’s no way I’m getting any homework done now.

nope…bummer. maybe we don’t find out today?

Nope… Nothing popped up for me

it’s also only 6:04. i know cornell’s didn’t come out EXACTLY at 5

I am considering double-majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience as I want to become a Neurosurgeon. It’s cool that we have the same goals. Where else have you looked for premed? If you don’t get into WashU, I highly recommend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. If I don’t get into WashU, that is where I am going. It has a fantastic everything, and it is actually ranked higher than WashU in research.

Is there a possibility of the decisions coming out after 5PM CST?

nope… nothing yet hopefully it will be tomorrow!

@Maxwell

Why not just do the PNP major? It has Psychology and Neuroscience in one major.

@nin1228

The whole Philosophy aspect really turned me off. I am currently taking ToK, Theory of Knowledge, and I am just too black and white to worry about the gray in life. Philosophy just bugs me in general.

In the PNP major, there are 2 tracks. Once is the more philosophical track with psychology and just a little bit of neuroscience, and the other is very very science based, with little to no philosophy. You can read more about the two tracks right on Wash U’s website.

Neuroscience isn’t its own major I thought.

are we officially not getting anything tonight?
