thank you!

My son plays Lax and applied to WashU but didn't end up there. I didn't think they had a lax team, even at the club level, but I could be wrong.

they have one i'm thinking of playing on it (transferring for sophomore year)

FYI, I stand corrected. WashU does have lax. It also shows under the college board site if you click on sports.

they do have one, and i think its like 3-4 times a week- check out their website:

go to http://lacrosse.wustl.edu

we are competitive lacrosse team that plays in the MCLA (the national club league for all schools that don't have varsity programs). We play against schools like Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Arkansas, Memphis, Saint Louis University, DePaul, Missouri State and others. That is just in our local conference. Great guys, great team, great experience. Go to the website for more details and contact information.

Go BEARS!

do you guys have tryouts? I'm a LSM and really want to play at a collegiate level. Is the team laid back or as intense as a varsity sport?

We are as intense as we can be as a club sport at Wash U, excluding the club sport experience you will find with a sport like Crew. We practice 3 days a week, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM (typical for club sports), and we do not hold tryouts. It isn't really possible when only 30 people sign up for the team. This is the case at most club programs across the country, save big time NCAA division 1 schools that have club lacrosse programs with student populations so large that over 60 people come out for the team (Michigan, UCLA, Arizona, etc). Wash U is school meant for academics; maybe one day this will be a destination program with students who want to practice 5 days a week, but this is not the case currently. Expect to be at every practice and at every game, expect to work for a spot in the national tournament, but do not expect this to be a boot camp lacrosse program.

If you got accepted to Wash U, I look forward to seeing you out on the field in the fall.
