WashU Scholarships

Am I less likely to receive one of WashU's scholarships (Rodriguez, Ervin, Moog, Mylonas, etc.) if I have already been accepted via its early decision program? There are few scholarships, and it'd make sense to give them out to people who want to decide between going to WashU and going to another prestigious school. Please help. Thanks :)

hmm, no personal offense at all, but generally people who apply for early decision are also those feeling the least secure about getting in. there are plenty of people who are almost certain they will be admitted (and have reason to feel so). For that matter, ED applicants generally might have less of a chance simply due to qualification.

either way, the applications are hell >.< I feel like I’m doing 10 college apps just trying to get 3 scholarships together.

No offense taken at all. Thanks for the input  i guess since i don’t really have anything better to do during winter break i’ll still do the apps, but i just wanted to know how i fared compared to other applicants.

I would say that, at least last year, many of the scholarship recipients were RD students, as it is one of WashU’s tools for convincing them to come to WashU. However, there were still plenty of ED students to get scholarships last year, myself included.

Out of curiosity…if my interests overlap between humanities/social sciences, what happens if I end up majoring in a social sciences major (such as econ/poli sci), but we receive the humanities scholarship (does it get rescinded?)?

Hey, motion. No, it says you can even switch schools and not have your scholarship taken away.

As zakuropanda said, any merit scholarship that you receive from WUSTL is guaranteed for eight semesters, no matter which major you end up choosing.
