WashU sent me a handwritten letter?

After my interview and tour on campus, a WashU adcom member sent me a handwritten letter completely customized (made references to our conversation during the intrvw) thanking me for the interview and that all my future endeavors go well. Do they do this with everyone? I want to apply ED to WashU, and do not want to be deceived by a letter…

Yes! It’s their way of thanking you for giving them personal attention. I’ve found that any faculty member I’ve talked to has been very personable, but the personalized note after the interview was awesome. Don’t let great “customer service” and courtesy prevent you from applying ED.

I think it’s WashU’s way of really personalizing your interview experience with them and really is a great thing that they do! It makes you feel as if they appreciate you making the effort to come to their campus and interview there as much as you appreciate having that chance!!
