I heard via snailmail from WUSTL, the first school to give me a decision, earlier today. And I got in! My college numbers (based on one semester) were strong, but my HS numbers were well below average, so I was a bit surprised, given their seemingly excessive (compared to other T20 schools) on stats (as compared to additional factors). Not sure if I'll wind up here, since I have several other decisions pending, but I can now nix plans to send in a safety app to Rochester, since I'd much rather be here.

Edit:
As requested earlier in the thread more generally, STATS:

Applied: WashU CAS, other schools (not relevant)
Accepted: WashU CAS
Entering as: Soph
Current College: Case Western
College GPA: 4.0 (one semester, above average course intensity level for first semester standards) [4.0 as of midterm grades too]
HS GPA: 3.5 (weighted, with 8 AP courses)
SAT: 1910
Academic Awards: Dean's High Honors List, AP Scholar with Distinction
HS ECs: Only mentioned Model UN (3 "Best" wards between 5 tournaments)
College ECs: Editorial Columnist (school paper), President & Founder of a new political group on campus, and some less imporant things.

I never used any sort of online login to check there. And if they sent out an email, I couldn't tell you, since gmail refuses to work. So yes, my only notification thus far, and therefore my first, was via snailmail.

hey guys, I am currently a high school senior. I got waitlisted, but I feel that my chances of getting in are very slim. I am totally in love with WashU, and would definitely apply as a transfer. Would you guys recommend transferring as a sopohomore or as a freshman. What should I do to improve my chances of getting accepted later on.

Defintely apply as a sophomore!!!!! No question. You know my son was rejected as a freshman out of high school and admitted for his sophomore year. Going a year later was the best decision he ever made. Don't wait until you are a junior, what's the point?

Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering for a very very close friend about transferring.
He's salutatorian (3.9 something gpa) at his high school but waitlisted (hopefully that will work out, if not...), and had ridiculously high test scores. He applied ED(washu was his #1 school), deferred then was waitlisted. He's deposited at i think CMU, but would much rather go to WashU.

So I'm just curious, would you suggest for him to apply for spring semester freshman year (to show interest) or sophomore year?

Well on this thread so far, 8 were accepted and 4 rejected. That's not absurd considering CC is a bastion for overachievers. Does the fact that "an absurd amount of transfers" were accepted diminish your accomplishment or reflect poorly on WashU? Last time I checked, WashU is still ranked #12 in the nation.

anywho, here are my stats:

Accepted to CAS (biology)
College gpa: 3.94 at a small LAC
HS gpa: 4.1 w (3.5 uw), magna cum laude at a rather cutthroat HS
ACT: 33
Lots of AP exams, 5's and 4's
My essays and LORs were quite good
A bunch of awards and stuff from HS

No it doesn't diminish my accomplishment since I have I think the lowest stats of anyone accepted (or rejected). If anything it would reflect poorly on WashU since they are accepting so many freshman as it is.
