I CAN'T DECIDE. I visited both this past weekend and I was really hoping that I would get that gut feeling at one of them...but they were both great!
I think I want to major in either neuroscience (PNP at WashU) or biology. I want to do research, and I heard it was really easy to work with professors at Pomona because there are pretty much no grad students, but I got into the summer scholars biology and biomedical program at WashU which basically guarantees that I'll have connections for research there too. It would also be ideal for the school to have a good theater program that's easy for non-majors to be involved with and a good English department because I was thinking about double-majoring.
I know I can't go wrong with either of these schools, but I still can't keep worrying about where I'm going to end up next year. Both schools are great for different reasons, and I can't decide which one I like better.

Yep, both are great. They both seem to meet all of your needs. Both would set you up well for graduate school in neuroscience or bio. Which location do you prefer?

What you could do is flip a coin to pick. Say to yourself, heads, Pomona, tails, WashU. Then, see which one you get and witness your gut reaction. See how you feel about the outcome. Maybe that will tell you something. Good luck!

Wow nice options. I would go with the cheaper option financially but all things being equal I would probably go to Pomona - Death by Chocolate! Who can beat that But in all seriousness, I believe that the closer professor contact will benefit, although it’s not like WASHU is a MAJOR and MASSIVE public U. Yeah I think I would go with the less cost.

I would take Pomona… I hear amazing things about the school… this forum, however, is not the best place to ask about Wash u. There seems to be a general dislike towards the school. Btw, both are great!

If money is the same, definitely Pomona.

yeah, Pomona cuz you get Harvey Mudd too in the case Mudd has some esoteric course you’re interested in.

Congratualtions - 2 incredible schools!

WashStl is in the top 15 of national research universities and Pomona is pushing the big 3 of LAC’s, with very high marks for its student/teacher interaction.

go to Pomona, you will love it
