WashU vs Vanderbilt for Physics

I have been accepted by both Washington University in St Louis and Vanderbilt for this coming year, and I am really torn between the two. Hopefully someone here can help! I am especially interested in astrophysics, and I would love to do as much research as possible. Some other questions I have are:

  1. How heavy is the workload?
  2. Is the environment more collaborative or competitive?
  3. How accessible are the professors, and how much individualized help are they willing to provide?
  4. How will each school help prepare me for grad school, specifically a PhD in astrophysics?
  5. Are there any “X-factors” that set these schools apart?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!
