How difficult it is to get into the waterpolo team? Are there any good water polo summer camps for 2009?

Here is a link to the waterpolo page:

click on the 2008 roster to see who was on the team and then click on their names to see more information about them.
many were named to all-state teams before coming to USNA.
they are quite a select group!

scroll down almost to the bottom for waterpolo

good luck to you!

Much tougher than curling or syncronized swimming.

LOL WP. I think you mean it’s easier to get on water polo than USNA curling or sycro swim, as those two don’t exist. You cad! Leading these young ones astray!

jagspeed… There’s a guy in our S’s company that is on waterpolo. From what I hear, it (surprisingly to me) is very competitive, but do-able. These guys are amazing swimmers, plus tough in the water. Connect with the Water Polo coach about your interest, and see what he has to say. Probably be your best source of info.

The water polo team is good. Do you have any experience playing? If not, then it might be tough to make the team. Since the men’s swim team can no longer compete in the EISL (Ivy League), the swim team is now that much tougher to make. That will probably result in some swimmers switching to water polo. Some of the polo players were on both squads, but I don’t think that will be possible in the future. One mid I know who is a strong swimmer lasted through one polo practice and decided to find another sport.

Good luck! It is a great game, but probably the most physically demanding there is (I know, others will object to that statement, but try swimming in the deep end with someone jumping on your head!)
