Are any of these books worth it?

“Still Not Convinced that spending 2 hours reading this
book will save you weeks of effort and considerably
improve your score?”

Most things that advertise like that are usually a joke.

I’m a tutor and I use these books with almost every student. Although the advertising makes some pretty big claims, I can tell you that for many students, a lot of these books make a huge difference. I think it really comes down to learning style. I like these materials because they are very direct and encourage students to keep growing, even after they’ve met their own expectations. The other reason I use them, honestly, is because they are affordable for everyone. The site has a lot of free information and resources, so I say check it out and see how it feels to you. There are lots of great resources, this one just fits my teaching style. If you have specific questions about any of the books, let me know, okay? I’m happy to help!

As a note, I will say that the Ways of the SAT Winners book is a really great supplement to your study materials. But in all honesty, I will say that it certainly shouldn’t be your only source ;)

reading these forums is the best advice. Trust me… they should publish a book on the compilation of important threads in this SAT forum.

you need a book for that?

I read your recommendations for the The Ways of the SAT Winners.
Is it really good?
My family is short in money and I can only choose to buy a limited number of books and ebooks.

So please help me out.

PS: I have the Official SAT study guide. Do I need any other ones?

thanks

The only books you need, as constantly reiterated, are the Blue Book and both volumes of Direct Hits! Every strategy you need is on CC. All you have to do is practice. Don’t waste your time and money lalalalalalalalalallalaalalalalaalalalalalalalalalallalalalalalala111.

My mom bought them, they are pretty much a scam.

Vouch this, Silverturtle/Xiggi/masochist guy that got a 2400> authors of these books.

I took a prep class months ahead of time in Junior year and got a 2090. I spent the summer playing videogames. Studied for 10 days before the October SATs and got a 2270. Moral of the story: don’t waste time and money on bullsh1t.

@lukereed: how much did you get? did your score improve?
