Ways to make up for a lower standardized test score?

I'm really frustrated because my standardized test scores aren't comparative to my GPA, and overall achievement in high school. Although I haven't taken my ACT yet, I'm predicting lower scores than I'd like. Most of my top universities have a range of 30-33, and I'm barely pulling a 28 with my tutor. Yes, I've heard of test-optional schools but they don't really appeal to me. Most of them are small liberal arts, and I'm looking for a different experience. So how heavily are standardized test scores factored into acceptances? I've got a strong GPA, recommendations, and extra curriculars.

Honestly, I was in the same situation… I say most colleges are holistic. what about taking the SAT?

What schools are you considering that aren’t test-optional?

If you take the SAT, aim for 2050-2200…

Had awful test scores but had an amazing essay, recommendations and EC!!! got into my #1!!!
