Kenyon launched its biggest fundraising campaign ever, We Are Kenyon, yesterday June 1st and has already raised $110M of its $230M goal. Some of the funds have already been dedicated to the new Visual Arts complex, which consists of two buildings- a 40,000 sq.ft. studio arts building and a 30,000 sq.ft. art history/museum/exhibition building- that total $34M. Paul Newman also donated funds to start a Newman's Own Foundation Scholarship program, which will provide at least $450,000 per year. Other donations include a $25M anonymous gift and a $10M gift from David Horvitz '74.

As a class of 2011 entering freshman, this seems like a very exciting time to be joining the Kenyon community. I think that this fundraising campaign will further strengthen Kenyon's solid reputation in the liberal arts, and will continue to attract a more creative, diverse, and intelligent student body. Being a planned Studio Art major/minor, I am extremely excited about the prospect of a new arts complex at kenyon. I CANT WAIT FOR AUGUST!
