It'll be deadly hot out and I find them more comfy than shorts. Of course, I wouldn't want to look strange. Thoughts?

I know a lot of girls did at my orientation last year, and I think the only problem depends on what you guys are doing. We did a good amount of active things that I feel like I wouldn’t be comfortable in being in a dress.

According to the schedule, we’ll be doing check in, a welcome (lecture), advising presentations and individual advising, lunch, advising and enrollment, check-out, and a little fair. There might be some “evening activities” alluded to but they’re not listed. I suppose I could call the school and ask too, but I want students’ perspectives on whether or not it would look strange. Sounds like it wouldn’t.

I wore a dress to my orientation. I wasn’t the only one, and no one gave me a weird look.

Go for it, no one’ll think it’s weird. You might want to bring a sweater though, in case buildings are cold or it gets chilly at night.
