Weather in Boston right now

I’m getting ready to start packing for Boston this weekend. Weather looks like mid 60’s, then mid 50’s by Monday. Does that feel warm to you? Here in the Midwest, it was mid 60’s yesterday and I was warm outside. I would have been to warm in a lightweight sweater or jacket, but I’m landlocked and not by water. So, do you feel like it’s more a humid feel or cool?

I came to work today without a jacket, and it was in the mid 50’s. It will be breezy this weekend. It’s a great weekend to be in town with opening day for the Red Sox on Friday and the Marathon on Monday. The city will feel alive again.

April is probably my least favorite month in New England, but at least our snow is gone. Some years it’s not by now. I’m hoping the grass in our neighborhood is a little green when I return from Texas on Sunday.

I am wearing a light jacket. Depends on wind and moisture.

Not so great if your are driving though! If so, it would be a nightmare.

The temperature in Boston will feel a lot cooler than the same temperature in someplace without the moisture, such as Arizona. We were in Arizona last month and were shocked at how much warmer the same temperature felt than at home. Downtown Boston also has some areas that can be very windy, which also makes it feel cooler. Plus, being April you have to be prepared for every type of weather.

It won’t be too warm in a light weight sweater or jacket. The weather here changes quickly–the last few weeks it’s gone from the low 40s in the morning to the 60s in the afternoon. My weather app says 70% chance of rain on Thursday and 40% on Saturday. Have fun!

Thanks all. I absolutely hate packing for shoulder season weather. I was going to try to do carryon, but I think I’ll just check and bag. There are a few blazers I’d like to wear in the evenings, but it might be too warm! Who knows? I’ll need to be prepared. I hate taking more clothing than I need. But I also didn’t do that once and was stuck wearing the same things over and over for a long weekend.

This is what the weather is like in Boston - could be 70 one day and 30 the next

If you are flying…take your jacket on the plane. In our recent experiences…the planes have been very chilly.

I would definitely bring layers! Over the weekend near Boston, it was cloudy, then a sudden hailstorm, then rainy, then beautifully sunny- all in the span of about 4 hours!

Thanks all.

Barbour type rain coat/light jacket works well from 40-65. Better with a singing. Also good for the rain.

I’m outside Boston . . . nice today (around 65) but it is still cool in the morning (around 45 this am) at this time of the year. Layers are best because it can get warmer when the sun pops out and then, suddenly, cooler when it goes behind the clouds or when the wind picks up. April in New England is not my favorite but it’s been pretty good this year (hey, no snow).

The weather forecast for Saturday is 68, that’s pretty warm. Definitely short sleeves with a light jacket if needed.

Be prepared for it to feel cooler than the mid-west. Dress in layers so you can adjust as the temperature will change.

Yes, definitely layers is the way to go. Wear a few of them on the. plane. That gives you a better shot at being able to do carry-on AND may give you an extra something to lean your head on for a nap.
