Weather issues

We may have an issue with wintry weather for an upcoming audition. Here in the south, wintry weather can really shut things down, as most places don't have the necessary road-clearing equipment. What do you think? Get there a day earlier? What kind of policies do schools have in these circumstances?

Funny that no one has commented here. I think I read some suggestions regarding travel elsewhere on CC, though. We don't live in the South, but are using air transportation, with airports located in areas that can be snowy and icy. We have tried to anticipate travel delays by scheduling departures early on the day BEFORE an audition to allow for some (limited) options for getting there. We're hoping everyone can be flexible, since we can't control the weather and transportation system!

Good luck to you!

Some schools may have a "snow date" -- but if you are traveling a long distance and/ or already have another audition scheduled for that day, or a rehearsal or performance it may be impossible for you to attend.

Some other schools may allow a videotape/dvd audition in the event that you are unable to make the on campus audition because of weather.

I would suggest checking with each school individually.
