<p>I missed the online chat that was for prospies tonight. It was from 7PM-9PM EST. Trouble is, I'm on Mountain Time and I took a nap and completely missed it! :P How did it go for those who chatted? Do you think there is going to be another one anytime soon?</p>

In which case, the chat almost surely would’ve been unhelpful.</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure the chat was mostly for ND applicants. A lot of the questions were things like “how many guys go to classes at Smith,” “do you need a minor and a major,” “are there sororities.” Questions whose answers can easily be found all over the website, brochures, google, etc., which most ED applicants probably know the answers to, but ND applicants wouldn’t, as many NDs are just beginning even searching for colleges…</p>
<p>I asked generally how quickly most first years settle into cliques or groups, and then my question wasn’t answered, and I felt horrible for asking that when I realized that the session wasn’t really about that type of discussion, haha. </p>
<p>But yeah, it started out as a flood of girls asking questions, then it petered out around 8 p.m. EST, or at least it seemed to be, I left then.</p>
<p>I did the web chat one year (as a Gold Key answering questions), and it was very hectic. wanton, you shouldn’t feel bad about it, probably your question just got missed in the flood of questions. </p>
<p>@jameslessberries – I think they did more than one the year I participated, so there will may be another chance.</p>
<p>FWIW, my daughter didn’t find the web chat particularly helpful or interesting.</p>
<p>I should note that I’m not referring to this year’s web chat but rather the one she logged onto in (gasp!) 2005.</p>

<p>SmithieandProud, if they do have another one this year, I’ll probably visit it for a little bit just for the heck of it. Maybe ask random questions about specific dorms or something. ;)</p>

<p>They should give you the link like jujubean said. Basically the chats are like instant message sessions, only with lots of participants. They invite a bunch of prospies and then have five or six students at computer stations on campus responding to questions as they come in. It’s kind of fun, though you get a lot of repeat questions.</p>
