Even with perfect marks, only 20 schools or so appear. This limits the usefulness, particularly considering there are very few public state schools among the results.

What the heck are people looking for?! Shut up & be glad there are 20 or so FREE options based solely on grades/scores … meaning that no kid with great grades/scores who is willing to take a free ride will go without. This should be excellent news for students whose families are too “rich” for aid & too “poor” to pay for college.

Nice app. One improvement would be to specify whether gpa is weighted or unweighted. UA’s scholarships are generally based on weighted gpa. I don’t know about the others. Maybe the app could ask for both weighted and unweighted gpas and go from there.

collegedadnh, do you have data on which ones are weighted and which ones are not?

And how they should be weighted?

If all the weighted gpas have a similar weighting system, I can go do it. Otherwise, it would probably make more sense for me to make simpler additions (like calculating Utah State).

sorry collegemerit, can’t help there. I don’t know where you pull your data from to begin with. I just happen to know from reading the FAQ that UA considers weighted gpa if its on the transcript. You wouldn’t be able to calculate it since it requires knowledge of too many specifics about the transcript in order to compute for AP and honors courses.

I actually pulled the data from the college confidential thread (I give credit to it on the bottom of the page). I went through all the links and double checked that they covered full tuition or more.
