I’m hijacking this thread a little, I hope you don’t mind, because I’ve been following it since my proposal, and have seen the amazing and plentiful dress suggestions, but am first looking for a professional school graduation dress
I have this one in mind and was wondering what you thought of it and if you could recommend any similar styles (= with sequins , I don’t really mind the shape. I am 5"6 and size 6).
The occasion is semi-formal, everyone wears what they like (flowers, bling, silk, whatever as long as it’s semi-formal).
As far as wedding dresses go, I am in love with the one on the left but I think it is a little over budget (no idea how much it really costs, but I am guessing $$$! )
Once you try on could be different, tho! I went into wedding dress shopping thinking I wanted an elegant, floor-length cocktail type dress (body-con, v. subtle sparkle). Then I tried on one of those traditional gowns with full skirt and train - the princess vibe kicked in big. LOL
The beaded dress is very cute. My daughter wore a similar one in a wedding, and the only thing I’d caution is that hers was very short and even shorter when dancing, etc. She’s skinny but tall, and I think she had a ‘small’ (size 4 maybe) and it fit fine, just short. The other bridesmaid who were taller but wearing a bigger size also could have used a little extra length. One bridesmaid was very short but a little bigger, so was probably wearing a size large, and it was way too long. Can’t win.
The OP had a post and was getting no traction on it. It was a post from last year that she updated.
So she then posted on the wedding thread. Which was spun off and now she is getting responses.
So I’d like to say that the wedding thread was not high jacked, but the OP (who I think is not a regular poster) was unsure where to get the advice she wanted.
Agree, all good. It was the OP herself that felt she was *hijacking" the thread and used that term. Some good suggestions and good wishes are already coming her way! Congratulations on the graduation!
oneandone - that Adrianna Papell dress is gorgeous! Personal preference, though - I’m not a fan of ‘skin colored netting’ covering deep-v necks. The vibe I get is"please ignore this netting that you are definitely seeing." lol.
