Weighted GPA and scholarships?

I need a 3.8 to be eligible for a certain incoming freshman scholarship at Grand Valley State University (or possibly others). I already have way over the ACT requirement. Do colleges usually consider weighted GPA in scholarships?

My transcript states "GPA 3.8445
GPA (unweighted) 3.6445"

GVSU says " GVSU will use cumulative GPA from 9th-12th grade. If a school
offers weighted grades we will accept that GPA. " for their admissions

Can I assume that it will also go towards scholarship eligibility even though the scholarship only says "Eligibility: 3.8 high school grade point average" with no mention of weighted grades?

Will my weighted GPA become what they consider first for my applications and scholarships? The admissions people are on vacation or something and they aren't answering any emails. This is pretty important and I need to be sure since it could be up to $9,000 a year. Thanks.

If they say that they accept a weighted GPA, then I think it’s safe to assume they’d accept it for all purposes, including scholarship eligibility.

I know some schools will use WGPA for scholarship. The only way to know for GVSU is to check with them. Send them an E-Mail or call them.

As the OP noted above, the admissions office is currently closed. According to the GVSU website, they will not be back in the office again until January 2.

Again, if the school accepts weighted GPA’s for admissions decisions, I would expect that they’d also be acceptable for scholarship decisions - at least for those scholarships offered by the school itself.

GVSU will take your weighted GPA, you should be eligible for the Presidential Scholarship at Grand Valley State University.
