I am a junior and currently do not know anything about what the common app asks. However, I have been signed up for various college prep sites (like zinch) and they ask for my GPA. Through the information I give them, they tell me how much of a long shot some schools are for me to get accepted into. It makes a world of difference whether I put my weighted or unweighted (4.0 vs. 3.7). What does the common app ask? And for those websites I visit to check if I am in the running to be accepted, should I post my weighted or unweighted?

On CA, you can put either one and choose the box accordingly. However, you should enter just as it is the way presented on your transcript. For most admission stat, however, they use uwGPA in 4.0 scale. The main reason is there is no standard in wGPA. If it does not specify, I would suggest to put uwGPA.
