Weighted/Unweighted

I’m sure this question has been asked many times, but i dont feel like going and looking for the threads- Does the Academy take into consideration difficulty of classes and if the school weights or not? Because I took a pretty rough schedule in HS and my grades were slightly lower than they wouldve been if I had taken easier classes. Also, my HS doesnt weight GPA’s.

Yes, they do look at the caliber of classes you were taking, not just the grades you got.

It's crazy, my ALO explained this

they have a program at the academy where, when you punch in the school code, it has the highschool's difficulty (i guess by % going to college? not sure), grading system etc already programmed into it.

then you punch in your GPA as the school give it to you, and the program gives the admissions people a new GPA

Yeah thats good. My high school is very competative, I think someting like 95% go to a 4 year college so hopefully they do have some sort of program thing.

does this only apply to the air force, or do the other service acadeimes do the same?

If air force does it, I would tend to assume that they all do it.

Many (most?) civilian colleges do the same thing. They pretty much know the rigor of the school and "adjust" the GPA accordingly. I know this b/c a family friend worked in the admission office of a small, highly regarded, private college.
