Weill Cornell MedSci Grad School

Since I know for a fact I probably would never be accepted to Weill's intensely competitive medical program (101 students chosen from 7,500+ applicants? Yikes..) I've been looking into Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they're the same building right?

Anyway, although I've found tons of information on the college, I'm just interested if anyone has some information about it. Any general perspectives, how competitive is it, can I go straight there from Cornell, etc.

Thanks, guys!

Don’t know about the actual program, but I’m not sure it’s wise to substitute an MD with Ph.D…

Oh no, of course I have. In fact, I probably shouldn’t have mentioned the Weill Med thing. I’m actually looking into going to graduate school for Biology (more particularly, perhaps genetics). I wouldn’t apply just because.

Again, just looking for some opinions, ideas, how competitive is the graduate program, does coming from Cornell at all help (doubtful, considering I asked a similar question about the Med school and someone said it’s basically the opposite), overview of the programs there and what not, as well as a confirmation on the fact that I could certainly apply right out of Cornell.
