Weird Awards?

Okay, so my award are a bit lacking so I was wondering if I could somehow put this in it.

There's this game and they offered a competition to design a Christmas item (weapon, armor, etc) and I won 3rd & 9th place. I'm going to receive $80 and 4 shirts total for winning.

I won another one with the same company to make a video and I got two shirts for that too.

I thought it might relate to come of the schools I'm applying to because I'm doing a comp sci major.

Too weird to put it in? I don't know how they would verify since the award is under my game name and I'm pretty sure they won't release my real name.

So, any thoughts?

I probably wouldn't list it under "awards or honors" on your application, because something like that requires more explanation for it to make sense to the average admissions officer. If you have the opportunity to write a short/optional essay, and you can make it kind of quirky/funny to reflect the quirkiness of the award but also link it to your interest in computer science, that might be kind of cool. If you're considering applying to MIT, they provide you with space for an "optional essay" for whatever you'd like to write about. But again, I would only incorporate this award into your application at all if you can use it to reflect your personality and interest. It has no inherent prestige and therefore cannot stand on its own as an "award/honor."

Hah! Personally, I would write a little supplemental thing, even if the application doesn't ask for it. Those things are definitely likely to stick in the heads of the adcoms

Hm. I guess I could write a small paragraph in the additional information section.
