Weird Double Major Combo + Minor?

Hi I want to double major in a science and a humanities/social science (Biochemistry and East Asian Studies) as well as a minor in Chinese. Do you guys think this is doable? Any opinions?

It depends on the school; I suggest you map out all 4 years of college to see whether you’d have to take any classes over winter break or the summer. The two fields are very different and have very little overlap- on the contrary, an East Asian Studies major and a minor in Chinese is very doable. Do you have any ideas on what you want to do with your double major and minor in the future?

It would be difficult to major in both of those fields simply because both of them are very time-consuming. Also, to get any proficiency in Chinese, you have to study abroad (preferably for at least a year) and it’s difficult for science majors to get the science courses they need during study abroad (or, if they can, they don’t have the language skills at a high enough level to take courses at a university in the host country)If you’re not in college already, look at schools with a Chinese Flagship program, e.g., Ohio State, in which you complete another major besides your Chinese studies.
